First Wave Aerospace Welcomes The New Year With Ducting Inventory Announcement
TULSA, OK (PRWEB) December 31, 2013 -- Commercial aircraft parts distributor First Wave Aerospace completed 2013 with an acquisition announcement of a major aircraft ducting lot of inventory to be opened for sales early in 2014. The announcement marks the second inventory acquisition in the last six months and signifies 2013 as a turnaround year for the 22-year-old firm.
“This acquisition ends the year with a bang and carries the momentum into the New Year that’s been ongoing since our purchase earlier in the year,” said Tony McAnly, President of First Wave Aerospace. “We’re truly grateful that customers, employees and the aircraft aftermarket responded so well to our new business model and we look forward to more fully developing it in 2014.”
Tim White, VP, Inventory Development, First Wave Aerospace, said the new inventory lot is a consignment from Southern Grace Aerospace Exchange of Alabama and it consists of 611 line items and over 153,000 parts. It features predominately B747 ducting used in the aircraft’s Environmental Control System (ECS).
“Quality aircraft ducting is becoming hard to come by in the aftermarket and this lot is in new and OH condition that has not been released to the open market before, as it was the stocking supply for a repair station that specialized in ECS ducting,” White said. “This could be the beginning of a Duct Dynasty at First Wave.”
Since a new ownership team took over the firm in May of 2013, sales have increased and new customers have been added monthly. The key has been to restructure Sales and Operations on a “customer-centric” infrastructure and focus.
“The first organizational change we made after the ownership/management transition was to triple the size of the Sales Team by re-training and repositioning inventory and shipping personnel into Customer Service and Sales roles on the Sales Team,” Glen Hyden Vice President and General Manager said. “We have our most experienced Sales Team member answering the AOG line for aircraft parts. We made a serious commitment to brokering parts to serve the Customer’s requirements if we do not have the required parts in our large inventory. If we don’t have it, we buy it, and we empowered our Sales Team to make those purchasing decisions on the spot to serve the customer.”
First Wave Aerospace has one of the largest inventories of commercial aerospace parts in the Americas with 280,000 line items of 6.8 million parts in warehouse facilities centrally-located in Tulsa.
