Firstmark Credit Union Distributes 85,000 Academic Planners for Back-to-School
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) September 01, 2016 -- Schools are officially back in session and to show appreciation for San Antonio’s educational communities, Firstmark Credit Union has delivered their 2016-2017 academic planners to 85,000 students, teachers, and office staffs city-wide. Since 1978, Firstmark’s academic planners have become a celebrated resource for schools.
“Firstmark’s academic planners have become a staple in the education community,” said Nathanael Tarwasokono, President and Chief Executive Officer of Firstmark Credit Union. “As the teacher’s credit union, it is important that we continue to support the staff that dedicate their lives to educating the next generation of leaders in the communities we serve.”
The planners were distributed to 122 private schools, colleges, universities, school districts, and after school programs in Bexar County, the 12 surrounding counties, as well as Fredericksburg. This year’s planner design was inspired by the recent cultural phenomenon of adult coloring books and creatively reflects the energetic spirit of today’s educators.
"Firstmark Credit Union is a premier partner to Northside ISD staff and students,” said Dr. Brian T. Woods, Superintendent of Northside Independent School District. “We so much appreciate their support of NISD through their grants and scholarships, back to school events, the Northside Education Foundation, and the distribution of the academic planners. Everyone looks forward to getting their planners. Thank you, Firstmark,” added Woods.
The planners run from August 2016-September 2017 and each month spotlights financial products Firstmark offers based on the season. Options such as Labor Day Loans, holiday credit cards, year-end auto loans, and budgeting tools are all highlighted. Other content includes a reminder for tax season, community events like SA Reads, resources available in Firstmark’s Online Teacher Center, and instructions on how to apply for Firstmark’s Educator Awards.
“Being active within the educational community is very important to our Board of Directors,” added Tarwasokono. “Our members trust us to help them and their families succeed. We’re here to help our members and the community realize their dreams.”
