Fisher & Paykel Appliances and Celebrity Chef Ludo Lefebvre Create Dream Kitchen
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 28, 2015 -- Chef Ludo Lefebvre, globally-acclaimed, award-winning celebrity French chef and ambassador for Fisher & Paykel; has designed his dream kitchen in his Los Angeles home.
Established as a key figure of the local gastronomic, national, and international landscape; Chef Ludo Lefebvre has pioneered and revolutionized the culinary industry. In 2015, he was knighted with the prestigious insignia of Chevalier dans l'ordre national des Arts et des Lettres by the Consul General of France in Los Angeles for his accomplishments, and dedication to the proliferation of French culture. All of Lefebvre’s award-winning restaurants; Trois Mec, Petit Trois, and Trois Familia are known for their inspired food, exceptional staff, and unique environments; in addition to his popular and growing LudoBird concept. With an innate understanding of what it takes to make a kitchen function, Lefebvre was inspired to create this ideal environment in his home. Taking his kitchen down to the studs, and in partnership with Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Lefebvre had a blank slate to dream up his perfect space to cook and share life with his family and friends. “We had the opportunity to work with Chef at the very beginning of this project,” said Fisher & Paykel’s Marketing Manager, Scott Davies. “By understanding both his and family’s needs, we were able to ensure he had the best products to make their dreams a reality.”
“I wanted to create a kitchen space that our friends and family could enjoy all together,” said Lefebvre. “We have a growing family and love to entertain, so we wanted to create an environment that was good for the kids to be an active part of cooking, doing homework, and arts and crafts. Before, our kitchen was really tiny and became the cramped center of the house. Everyone wanted to be in the kitchen, but there was only enough space for about three people and it felt almost dangerous for the kids.”
Lefebvre commissioned esteemed design and project manager, Ginny Capo, who worked closely with him and his wife Krissy, to create a “Burgundy-meets-modern-convenience” aesthetic. The aim was to juxtapose chic, modern appliances with an old world warmth and feel. The resulting transitional design perfectly blended this aesthetic with the functionality and performance that Lefebvre commands.
Starting with oversized matte wood plank flooring, Capo and the Lefebvre’s established a rich, warm foundation to lay the perfect kitchen. Stunning (insert description -- maybe brushed concrete-feeling) cabinetry imparts an added sense of warmth with a nod to modernism that is further conveyed by stainless steel appliances by Fisher & Paykel. Rich, white marble Caesarstone countertops and an oversized copper sink complement the generously sized island that unites the family in one area, while giving Lefebvre all of the counter space he could ever need to create his signature dishes for family and friends. Every element in the kitchen was truly hand selected for its purpose, as well as adding texture and dimension to the design.
At the heart of any chef’s kitchen are the appliances -- the tools to bring life to their culinary creations. Lefebvre chose to align with Fisher & Paykel not only for their shared passion for performance and consistency, but also for their shared values: creating products with life in mind that are adaptable, functional, durable, and of real quality. “I felt like a kid in a candy store – having the ability to choose my favorite appliances was incredible.”
Following are the specific appliances featured in the Lefebvre dream kitchen:
OVENS
“The ovens are fantastic; they quickly heat up, provide ten cooking functions for greater control and flexibility, and have even heat distribution, which is so important,” shares Lefebvre. “It’s so amazing to have the oven racks on wheels to make it easy to slide in and out, too. Definitely part of the secret for a perfect soufflé. The soufflé does not get bounced around when pulling out the rack, so there is no risk of falling, well at least from that part of the process.”
30” 11 Function Self-Clean Built-In Ovens: Designed for ultimate performance and cooking capability, the 30" built-in Oven comes in three single and two double models, with 4.1 cu.ft. total capacity in each oven. This model has 10 cooking functions, plus a self-cleaning mode and a catalytic smoke eliminator. Available in two finishes--glass or stainless steel--and blending design with durability, the Lefebvre family kitchen features two of these high-performance ovens.
REFRIGERATION
“The Fisher & Paykel CoolDrawer™ is amazing with five different temperature settings that change it from a refrigerator to a freezer. There is nothing like it,” shares Lefebvre.
80” ActiveSmart™ Built In Refrigerator: The next generation of family-sized Fisher & Paykel Built-in refrigerators offers a new level of fit and finish to deliver seamless kitchen integration. Designed for easy installation and flush fit into new or existing kitchen cabinetry with minimal gaps. With the slimline water dispenser, internal ice making, and SmartTouch controls these refrigerators are designed to match with our family of kitchen appliances.
36” CoolDrawer™ Multi-Temperature Drawer. The CoolDrawer™ has been designed to change from refrigerator to freezer at the touch of a button. You can integrate the cooldrawer discreetly into your cabinetry or purchase a stainless steel drawer panel* to match your CoolDrawer with other kitchen appliances. The CoolDrawer™ provides five temperature settings to deliver total flexibility - freezer, chill, refrigerator, pantry and wine modes, merging intelligence with convenience.
COOKTOPS:
36” 5-Burner Flush Gas on Steel Cooktop: The Flush Gas on Steel Cooktop integrates perfectly into any kitchen work surface providing a subtle unobtrusive design. With power levels for everything from a slow simmer for sauces, to an intense heat for steaks and stir-fries. Combining the attractiveness of brushed stainless steel with the durability of cast iron trivets, this cooktop combines sleek design with excellent functionality.
36” 5 Zone Induction Cooktop: Traditionally we cook by generating heat from one source, such as a flame, and conducting it to another. The Fisher & Paykel Induction Cooktops work on a different principle: the cooktop itself produces electromagnetic vibrations, which induce the pot or pan to generate its own heat. The results are shorter heat-up times, greater precision and a safer cooking surface.
DISHDRAWER
“Dishes are my least favorite part of the day, but the Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer makes our lives easier by making it easy to do them since it’s so easy to load and unload with the just the pull of a drawer,” shares Lefebvre.
DishDrawer™ Double Tall DishDrawer: Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer™ dishwashers are designed to make doing the dishes easier than ever before. DishDrawers™ can be concealed easily behind kitchen cabinetry to seamlessly blend in with your kitchen and the ergonomic design minimises bending by requiring less movement to open, load and close. This model is designed for extra headroom in the top drawer. The increased drawer height fits 13" plates, making cleaning up after dinner parties a breeze. The DishDrawer™ Tall dishwasher can also easily accommodate oversized platters and extra-long stemmed glasses.
The kitchen also features Rohl faucets and luxurious countertops by Caesarstone.
