Troy, MI (PRWEB) November 24, 2014 -- FISHER UNITECH, top reseller for Stratasys 3D Printers and a leading value-added reseller (VAR) for SolidWorks® 3D design software, has announced the successful completion of a several month-long capital restructuring project that has resulted in the company being acquired by The Riverside Company (TRC). TRC, based in Cleveland, OH, is a global private equity firm focused on acquiring and investing in growing businesses. Since its founding in 1988, Riverside has invested in more than 360 transactions and has more than 75 companies in its international portfolio.
FISHER UNITECH launched the project to create a foundation and structure for the future. The company’s primary objective was to establish a platform for the aggressive growth expected in both software and 3D printers over the next five years.
“We selected The Riverside Company as our partner because of their commitment to success through organic growth and for their expertise in operational mentoring,” said Charlie Hess, FISHER UNITECH CEO. “TRC will provide support and guidance to us with our add-on strategy to complement our organic growth.”
The Riverside Company has a rich history of investing in discrete manufacturing companies. The firm has invested in more than 80 specialty manufacturing and distribution (SMD) platform companies since its founding.
“Our SMD team focuses on investing in many manufacturing businesses that would be target customers for FISHER UNITECH. As a result, the value Fisher provides its customers as they seek to innovate with new products was immediately recognizable to our team,” said Riverside Partner Steve Dyke, the firm’s Global Head of SMD.
FISHER UNITECH will continue its daily operations as usual. Hess and VP of Technology Greg Fisher will remain in their positions along with the rest of the management, sales, technical and administrative teams. The company will operate as Fisher Unitech, LLC.
