Fitness App Uses Selfie Cam to Launch First-Of-Its-Kind Mobile Personal Training
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2015 -- Fitnet, the award-winning fitness app consisting of five to seven minute workouts and biometric sensors to track clients’ performance in real time, announced today that it will be launching a 7DayFit™ program in version 4.2 of the app, which will be available for download on January 1, 2016. This update completely revolutionizes the way Fitnet’s clients can set goals and track progress by combining biometric sensors, real-time data, wearable integration and customized coaching from expert health professionals. The app’s makeover is launching to provide a personal trainer for its growing client base, which includes fitness enthusiasts in more than 200 countries who have completed over 1.6 million minutes of Fitnet exercise to date.
The 7DayFit™ program, designed to boost calorie burn and assist in accountability and healthy lifestyle habit formation, is broken up into three portions. First, the week starts with the 7MinuteClinic, an instructional practice and evaluation session that is shared with a certified fitness trainer through a video recording using Fitnet’s biometric sensor technology via a selfie cam. The trainer replies within 24 hours with key measures of the performance, tips to improve form, estimated body fat composition and a selfie picture from the session, which is used for before and after photos. Next, the client is provided with a customized 5-day exercise plan with 21 minutes of exercise a day. On day 7, the client receives a full report of their results as well as nutritional guidance.
"The 7DayFit™ program is unlike any other workout program I’ve done before," said Ra-Chell Turner, beta tester of 4.2. “As a busy mom, the convenience and professional guidance provided via the 7DayFit™ program have made working out as pain free as possible, yet effective. Each day, I look forward to my workout and seeing my fitness level progress through the real-time data.”
In 2014, Kantar Media’s MARS found that 32 percent of mobile device owners use fitness apps, which is predicted to have only increased. Further, a new report from the Media and Services UX (MSX) group at Strategy Analytics has found that health and fitness consumers using mobile fitness apps were often using more than one fitness app and were actively seeking an “all-in-one solution.” With the release of 4.2, Fitnet strives to fill that void by providing an all-encompassing solution. Fitnet’s unique biometric sensor capabilities, which provide real-time data, paired with health professional recommendations make for a one-of-a kind workout experience.
“At Fitnet, we’re always paying attention to latest trends in fitness and seeking feedback from our large user base to find out what they’re looking for in a mobile workout,” said Bob Summers, chief geek of Fitnet. “4.2 is the result of in-depth research combined with the latest operating system releases from Apple and Google.”
The 7DayFit™ program will be available starting January 1, 2016 within the app for $6.99 per week and $19.99 per month. For no charge, Fitnet still has over 250 free strength training, cardio and yoga workouts and is available for download on iTunes, the Apple Watch app store and Google Play.
