FLC Celebrates American Innovation Through Annual Awards Ceremony
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) February 06, 2018 -- The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) is excited to announce its 2018 national award winners for outstanding technology transfer achievement. A total of 30 awards will be presented to individuals and teams from 24 federal laboratories representing 10 federal agencies.
This annual honor recognizes federal technology transfer professionals, scientists, engineers, and their industry, academic, and state and local government partners who bring innovation to the market and shape the future. The ceremony, taking place at the FLC national meeting in Philadelphia this spring, is an annual event that recognizes the important work being done in our national laboratories.
“This year we celebrate outstanding achievements in technology transfer of federal research and development in Philadelphia, the birthplace of American Innovation,” said Donna Bialozor, Awards Committee Chair. “The individuals and teams being honored have worked tirelessly to bring federal scientific and technological advances from the lab to the world at large. The FLC is excited to recognize their extraordinary technology transfer efforts.”
Over 90 nominations were submitted and considered, prior to the FLC’s selection of the 30 award winners. Award winners include the United States Department of Agriculture for a successful transfer of technology that purifies water in outer space, and the National Cancer Institute for the large-scale deployment of Anti-HIV Microbicide in Soya Beans.
Award winners will be honored on April 25 in a special awards ceremony and reception at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. The FLC national meeting is one of the most anticipated annual events in the technology transfer community, offering both training and networking opportunities designed to facilitate attendees’ commercialization endeavors.
