FLC Industry Day Comes to Philadelphia, the Birthplace of American Innovation
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) April 18, 2018 -- The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) is inviting industry professionals and entrepreneurs to attend its annual Industry Day and hear from top innovators in the technology transfer community. On April 26 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, attendees will have the opportunity to discover how public-private partnerships can work to their advantage.
Featured each year as a part of the FLC national meeting, Industry Day offers a chance for regional businesses and economic development organizations to explore the research and development (R&D) possibilities that can come from connecting with national laboratory researchers —such as access to state-of-the-art resources, subject-matter experts, and more.
“One of our goals year-round is to make sure industry professionals and the researchers in federal labs have access to one another and creating an environment where technology transfer can change the entire landscape,” said John Dement, FLC Chair. “Industry Day is an opportunity for the FLC to educate both our laboratory members and the business community about the best ways to access each other’s resources in the name of innovation.”
Industry Day highlights top innovation thought leaders from the science and technology community to offer perspectives on how the public and private sectors can work together to accelerate lab-to-market success. This year’s keynote speaker, Tom Osha, Senior VP, Innovation & Economic Development, of Wexford Science & Technology, will deliver insight into the strategy behind growing partnerships between organizations and entrepreneurs in pursuit of new innovations.
Additional features include panels that spotlight leaders in entrepreneurship, university and federal collaborations, minority business development, and a session on the White House Return on Investment (ROI) Initiative. All sessions promise to offer significant insight into the connections technology transfer can create.
