FlexEnergy Joins Forces with Tractors Petroleum Services Sdn. Bhd. as Distributor in Malaysia
Portsmouth, N.H. (PRWEB) August 26, 2015 -- FlexEnergy, a privately held manufacturer of the world’s only synchronous generator-based microturbines, recently signed an exclusive two-year agency agreement with Tractors Petroleum Services Sdn. Bhd. (TPS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sime Darby. TPS will be responsible for sales and service for FlexTurbine™ products and parts, including field technicians and factory warranties, under the agreement.
Flex turbines are able to sustain the harsh and demanding environments consistent with offshore oil or gas platforms, while using gas produced by the extraction process as fuel to provide power to offshore operations. The minimal maintenance required by FlexEnergy’s turbine technology helps operators avoid the risk of having to frequently rely on back-up generators to power valuable operations.
The agreement makes TPS an authorized distributor of FlexEnergy turbines and related equipment in Malaysia. Vincen Lim, FlexEnergy’s Asia territory sales manager, states, “Sime Darby’s long-standing relationship with Petronas and its other production-sharing contractors gives FlexEnergy an exciting platform in this key market. Our relationship with Sime Darby will also offer us effective channels into other Asian markets.”
FlexEnergy President Mark Schnepel says, “We are proud of our new partnership with TPS and value their support of FlexEnergy technology. We look forward to working with their dedicated FlexEnergy team to rapidly establish our presence in oil and gas applications in the important and long-established Malaysian market.”
About FlexEnergy
FlexEnergy is a privately-held, New Hampshire-based manufacturer of the highest quality and most robust small gas turbines available in their class. FlexEnergy’s 250kW and 333kW cogeneration combined heat and power (CHP) gas turbines provide highly reliable, low maintenance, and low emissions electricity and heat to global customers, often in remote areas where the electric grid can be unreliable, expensive, or altogether absent. Developed over the course of two decades by Ingersoll Rand before being acquired by FlexEnergy in 2010, Flex turbine technology features a highly robust synchronous generator for larger gas turbines. Uniquely capable of handling varying or cycling loads in remote oil field power generation, this offers significant advantages in the field and allows for the combustion of a wider range of gases, including flare gas.
