FlexJobs Identifies Companies Hiring Remote Workers in Top 10 States with Highest Telecommuting Populations
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) November 04, 2015 -- In the last ten years, telecommuting has grown 103%, according to data analyzed by Global Workplace Analytics. In 2014 alone, telecommuting grew 6.5 percent, and telecommuting continues to be the most popular and sought after type of flexible work.
The following ten states had the highest percentage of people working from home in 2014, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Fact Finder. South Dakota and Utah are newcomers to the top 10 list, replacing Maine and California, which were included in the 2013 list. The average telecommuting population among the top ten states has risen to 6.2%, up from 5.9% in 2013.
Following each state is a sample of companies hiring for telecommuting jobs and the state’s current telecommuting population.
Montana: Oracle, Providence Health & Services, and Janssen have recruited telecommuters in Montana, and 7.1% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
Vermont: Aetna, Dell, and Salesforce have recruited telecommuters in Vermont, and 7.1% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
Colorado: TeamSnap, VMware, and Xerox have recruited telecommuters in Colorado, and 6.5% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
Oregon: Apple, Edmentum, and Hartford Financial Services Group have recruited telecommuters in Oregon, and 6.4% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
Idaho: LiveOps, Hilton, and Mayo Clinic have recruited telecommuters in Idaho, and 6.2% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
New Hampshire: Sodexo, Covance, and Welcome Wagon have recruited telecommuters in New Hampshire, and 6% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
Arizona: Motorola, Teleflex, and Dignity Health have recruited telecommuters in Arizona, and 5.7% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
South Dakota: Westat, Infor, and Canon have recruited telecommuters in South Dakota, and 5.5% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
Utah: CDK Global, Symantec Corporation, and Citibank have recruited telecommuters in Utah, and 5.5% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
Washington: Red Hat, Kaplan, and Keeping Your Balance have recruited telecommuters in Washington, and 5.5% of the state’s population work from home full-time.
