FlexJobs’ Survey Indicates Flexible Jobs Can Improve Love Life, Health and Happiness
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, FlexJobs, a premium service specializing in remote and flexible job opportunities, conducted a Work-Life-Relationship survey which asked over 2,000 respondents a variety of questions about how their work life impacts their relationships, health, stress levels, physical fitness frequency, and more. According to the results, flexible work arrangements offer positive benefits across the board for personal health, family and friend relationships, as well as romantic relationships.
Over 99% reported that a flexible job would make them a happier person in general and benefit their personal health. A “flexible job” is defined as a job that has a telecommuting, flexible schedule, freelance, or part-time component. Flexible jobs tend to offer more ability for workers to fit work into their lives in a way that reduces conflict between their personal and professional responsibilities.

“While the more popular perks of flexible work, such as better work-life balance, reduced commute, and cost savings are well-known, there are other less obvious but still significant benefits, such as an improvements in health and even our love lives, " said Sara Sutton Fell, Founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “Happier, healthier people typically are also more productive and engaged employees, so ultimately it benefits the workplace company culture and employers’ bottom lines as well.”
Regarding their romantic relationships, respondents reported:
84% thought that having a job with work flexibility would help them be a more attentive spouse/partner/significant other
48% said it would benefit their romantic relationship, and another 29% were hopeful it would
49% thought it would increase time available for dates/date nights
42% said it would improve their sex life, and another 30% were optimistic it would
