“As a startup community, we spend so much time trying to innovate and grow, that we sometimes forget what simple contributions of time and resources can do for others,” says Max Klein, CEO of Float. “We wanted to make a big impact, and what one company can do, ten can do better.”
#StartupsForCharity provides a structured and easy way for companies in the startup and tech space to leverage their collective resources and influence to drive significant giving efforts and awareness for charitable organizations. Partnering startups can have team members sign up for specific volunteering and giving opportunities through the platform's website. Team members then spread awareness of their participation via their social networks with the #StartupsForCharity hashtag, encouraging others to join.
#StartupsForCharity launches this holiday season with four volunteering days at Baby Buggy and Los Angeles Food Bank. Additional charity partners and programs will be announced early next year, with plans to expand to other startup communities across the US.
