Florida Drug Rehab Facility Announces New Christian Treatment Program for Clients Recovering from Drug or Alcohol Addictions
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- Cornerstone Recovery Center, a drug and alcohol treatment center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, proudly announces the addition of a Christian treatment program to its recovery services.
Reverend Charlotte Day joins Cornerstone Recovery Center as the Christian Program Director to develop a faith-based curriculum that combines scripture with the 12 steps of recovery, teaches coping tools from a biblical perspective and focuses on relapse prevention. Charlotte is an ordained minister and is about to start seminary for a Masters in Christian Counseling. She will facilitate groups that incorporate the pillars of recovery with biblical principles and prayer.
“I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to work with Cornerstone, and I feel the Lord has called me to begin something special there,” says Charlotte. “He has called me to help implement the Christian vision and carry it to its fruition.”
In addition to her spiritual work, Charlotte will work with trauma therapists to address clients’ core relationship issues and help resolve barriers to a relationship with God. She will also practice cognitive behavioral therapy, which includes teaching clients how to redirect negative thoughts and replace them with the word of God. Celebrate Recovery®, a Christ-centered drug and alcohol recovery program, will be a key component of the Christian track. Participants in the program will get help with developing:
• Self-esteem based on Christian principles
• Balance in their lives, including faith and recovery
• Healing and forgiveness
• A recovering identity in Christ
Group activities to support addiction recovery include morning motivations that teach “an attitude of gratitude”, attending church and Bible studies and participating in Christian events and concerts within the community to help build relationships. Rev. Charlotte will be performing Baptisms on the beach for those who make that decision as well as offering spiritual direction to those in the group.
