Florida Hospital Welcomes Dr. Oz to Tampa and Invites the Community to Attend Educational Seminars Hosted by Florida Hospital Physicians
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) March 26, 2015 -- Florida Hospital teamed up with ABC Action News to participate in the Taking Action For Your Health campaign and live Dr. Oz event, which took place at the Westfield Citrus Park mall on Saturday, March 21st. More than a thousand people came out to see Dr. Mehmet Oz and hear his message of healthy living.
The world renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and Emmy award winning talk show host joined ABC Action News anchor Linda Hurtado and a panel of experts for the live health expo. Florida Hospital physicians, Dr. Jonathan Phillips, Dr. Stephen Raterman, Dr. Jeff Watson and Dr. Edward Becker participated in the live event.
“Florida Hospital is committed to educating the community about health and wellness, not just providing quality and compassionate care when people are sick. As a physician who practices sports medicine, I believe everyone needs to find their right level of physical activity and stay motivated. I enjoyed participating in the health panel hosted by Dr. Oz that focused on how people can live their best life now,” said Dr. Jonathan Phillips, Director of Sports Medicine at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel.
Dr. Oz shared three key pieces of advice during his visit in Tampa: physical activity is critical, but you don’t have to run marathons, eat real food and finally, give your heart a reason to keep beating, you control your own destiny. Dr. Oz stated that people actually control 70% of how they age by making healthy choices.
Finding the right level of physical activity can be a challenge for people who suffer from conditions like arthritis, hip and knee pain, shoulder immobility and sports injuries. In an effort to help people living a healthier life, Florida Hospital invites the community to attend these upcoming seminars presented by Florida Hospital physicians:
