Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Opens New Physician Lounge Designed to Give Doctors a Place to Rest, Refresh and Continue Providing the Best Possible Care for Patients
Zephryhills, Florida (PRWEB) June 10, 2015 -- Florida Hospital Zephyrhills is pleased to announce the grand reopening of its newly, renovated physician lounge. This new physician lounge is designed to give doctors a place to rest and refresh during lengthy workdays, so they can provide the best possible care for patients.
“Our physicians work extraordinary hours to care for our patients no matter the time of day,” said Randy Surber, CEO and President of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. “We believe providing an environment in which they can find respite and restoration is key to their good health as well.”
Renovations include a modern dining area, five workstations, an entertainment and conversation area equipped with two 65” television screens, a large digital screen for physician to physician communication and a relaxation room. Studies have shown that sleep deprivation can cause people to work at subpar levels.
Therefore, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills decided to create a state-of-the-art relaxation room with a sleep pod and a reclining massage chair. The sleep pod is a 20 minute, pre-programmed, relaxation session that helps doctors feel energized, thus, resulting in better overall care of our patients. Spending 20 minutes in the sleep pod is equal to two hours of normal sleep.
