Florida HPA Windows and Doors Company Prepares for Hurricane Season
(PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- Home Performance Alliance, popular premium windows and doors experts, are preparing for this year’s hurricane season, which has been predicted to be more active than usual. Meteorologists Philip Klotzbach and William Gray from Colorado State University, forecast this year will likely host 18 significant storms, nine hurricanes, and four major hurricanes. This estimate places the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season well above the 1981-2010 average of 12 storms, 6.5 hurricanes, and two major hurricanes per year.
"Coastal residents are reminded that it only takes one hurricane making landfall to make it an active season for them, and they need to prepare the same for every season, regardless of how much activity is predicted," the meteorologists said. “This year's neutral Pacific water temperature conditions, when combined with other factors, still points to a more active season.”
The projections are based on measurements of water temperature and meteorological conditions in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. When compared to the last 30 years, this year has exhibited unusually warmer tropical Atlantic temperatures. The Pacific is not likely to produce an El Nino weather pattern this season, which normally creates wind shear that hinders the formation of hurricanes in the Atlantic. These factors all point towards prime hurricane and storm conditions throughout the tropical Atlantic regions.
HPA Windows and Doors manufactures a window designed to help protect against storms, called the Dominator EXT Impact Window. This especially durable product is made with both vinyl and metal to increase its energy efficiency and strength. They utilize a patented dual weep system, which drains moisture away from the home. The Dominator EXT Impact Window is also made to beautifully compliment any architecture with its clean line profile interior and exterior, displaying a large viewing area with laminated glass.
HPA Windows recommends residents of Florida and beyond begin preparing now for the fast approaching hurricane season, as this year’s storms may surpass even the great challenges presented in recent years.
