Flowers and Company Humanitarian Assistance in Response to Mercy Children’s Home - Christian Orphanage

It was the capital of the independent Republic of the Union of Myanmar (Burma), popularly known as Myanmar from 1948 to 2006. Subsequently, Nay Pyi Taw was officially proclaimed the new capital of the country. Yangon was known as Rangoon until 1989 when the Myanmar government called for Yangon, a transliteration reflecting the Burmese pronunciation of the city’s name used by other countries. Yangon is the largest city in Myanmar; it is the industrial hub and centre of commerce in Myanmar.
Myanmar is a sovereign state in the Southeast Asian border by Bangladesh, China, India, Laos and Thailand. It has a population of over 60 million making it the 24th most populous country in the world, 40th largest country and the second largest country in Southeast Asia.
Myanmar and its City of Yangon are located in Southeast Asia no less than about 8,898 miles from State of Texas. Even with the industrial and commerce activities and a strong population of over 5 million majority of the household are struggling to have and benefit from constant electric power supply and all the economic potency a nation derives as a result of constant power supply and basic infrastructural successes that can position Myanmar as one of the thriving Asian country.
Located in the North of the City of Yangon in the remote part of this area is Mercy Children’s Home, a Christian Orphanage committed to helping improve the welfare, social and economic well-being of orphans and people with life threatening health conditions. Mercy Children’s Home often provides opportunity for international humanitarian services to individual, businesses, philanthropist who are committed to serving humanity and improving global welfare.
Reverend Dr. Michael Bingham of Deer Park, Texas, a servant leader who has dedicated decades of his retirement years into improving the standard of living around the world recently heeded the call of Mercy Children’s Home and volunteered in helping improve the basic welfare in Yangon. Recently, Reverend Dr. Michael Bingham embarked on a fund raising exercise on a mission to restore alternative electricity power supply to the Christian Orphanage, starting off by simply repairing a broken diesel generator, replacing its parts with environmental friendly components and providing a safe storage area to restore a reliable alternative source of electricity to the orphanage home. This project was solely completed by a single $1000 donation made by Flowers and Company of Pasadena, Texas.
This funding for the alternative electricity power project helps power street lightings, computers and communication systems as well as other equipment used for treatment and entertainment of the orphans. It also addresses many other shortcomings of the other means of electric power development. Even though this is not a permanent solution it has provided a framework that to fills a void when there is complete power outage and an opportunity to design a more permanent solution such power supply epidemic. An initiative to raise funds and call for support is being championed by Reverend Dr. Michael Bingham to put a permanent solution to the lack of basic power supply.
