FMCSA Administrator to Speak at Women In Trucking Conference
(PRWEB) October 06, 2016 -- The Women In Trucking Association, Inc. (WIT) announced today that T.F. Scott Darling, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will be an speaking during its opening session of the Accelerate! conference and expo. This event, which will take place Nov. 7-9 in Dallas, is the second year the Women In Trucking Association has hosted this event.
Darling will address how regulatory requirements can have a significant impact on transportation operations, and will discuss such issues as the agency's implementation of the FAST Act and proposed rulemakings on speed limiters for heavy vehicles, national training standards for entry-level commercial driver's licenses, and the establishment of the Congressionally directed CDL drug and alcohol clearinghouse.
The Accelerate! conference is designed to support the Women In Trucking Association's mission: To encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments, and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the industry. This event will feature more than 30 educational sessions on topics that range from the economy, capacity challenges, negotiation skills, and work/life balance to attracting millennials, recruiting from non-traditional demographics, and safety and risk management for female drivers on the road.
Sessions and best practices will highlight such companies as Daimler, Mode Transportation, Saia, U.S. Xpress, Werner Enterprises, PeopleNet, TA-Petro, Ryder, FedEx, and J.B. Hunt, to name a few.
The event also features a comprehensive exhibition of providers, and several opportunities that encourage networking among attendees. Exhibitors include C.H. Robinson, Centerline, Cummins, Eaton, Estes, Great Dane, MacroPoint, Michelin, Peterbilt Motors, truckstop.com, YRC Worldwide, and Zip Xpress.
