AdvancePierre Foods Holdings, Inc.
AdvancePierre (APFH), a nationally recognized food supplier based in Cincinnati, OH, wanted to streamline its existing SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010 deployment used by 2,200 employees into a single SharePoint 2013 farm. Focal Point Solutions worked with APFH to migrate more than 250 gigabytes of content to the new SharePoint 2013 farm in less than two weeks. Once all content was moved onto SharePoint 2013, Focal Point Solutions then transitioned to business process automation by implementing custom forms and workflows for various departments and within APFH. Focal Point Solutions then implemented a streamlined document and content management system taking advantage of SharePoint’s rich metadata capabilities, enabling AdvancePierre employees to easily search a single source of record to improve team collaboration and the experience for its end users.
Yaskawa Motoman
A Miamisburg, OH-based robotics company, Yaskawa Motoman turned to Focal Point Solutions to use Microsoft Office 365 with SharePoint Online to update its legacy intranet and reorganize and reduce the amount of content the company managed. Focal Point Solutions created a modern Intranet enabling Yaskawa Motoman’s IT department to provide a self-service model for users to make changes, add documents, and collaborate – freeing up existing IT resources formerly dedicated to servicing its homegrown intranet to focus on other business-critical initiatives. Employees can now also quickly upload documents tagged with relevant metadata and search for existing information in one portal instead of searching hundreds of pages manually. In addition, Focal Point migrated and streamlined a legacy web application used to locate manufacturing documentation linked to complex robot products, allowing Yaskawa Motoman to leverage the vast features available in SharePoint including managed metadata, Enterprise Search and versioning.
