Food for the Hungry Releases Children's Christmas E-book Highlighting Christmas Stories from Around the World
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- Today, Food for the Hungry (FH) released its 12 Days of Christmas, a children’s e-book that serves as a countdown to December 25. Sharing Christmas traditions from 12 different countries, the e-book offers parents a tool to teach children about cultures from three continents.
The book also shows how some of the 1 billion children who live in poverty survive and how those in the U.S. to make a difference in their lives. Each story highlights a special gift that can help a child and his/her family overcome poverty.
“The book was created to help parents gently introduce their children to poverty and show them how to help,” said Renee Targos, co-author of the e-book. “When children learn they can make a difference in solving big problems, like world hunger, it gives them a sense of confidence and purpose. Learning about other cultures also gives them greater vision for their own lives.”
FH will also offer a complimentary blog series called 12 Days of Christmas for parents. Each blog from December 13-24, will highlight a characteristic of love. The blogs will encourage parents to practice patience, kindness and other fruits of the Spirit, while introducing a new chapter of the children’s e-book each day.
