Food Logistics Names DB Schenker Top 100 Cold Storage 3PL Provider for a Third Year in a Row
(PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- Food Logistics, the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the food supply chain, this week announced that DB Schenker has been named to the eighth annual list of the top 100 3PL and Cold Storage Providers in its August 2013 issue. The Top 100 3PL & Cold Storage Providers serves as a resource directory of third-party logistics and cold storage providers whose products and services are critical for companies in the food and beverage supply chain, from food growers, producers and manufacturers to retail grocers, convenience markets and others.
“Food logistics is such a critical market segment for DB Schenker’s future growth, and we are very pleased to be recognized for our strength in this area and included in the Top 100 3PL and Cold Storage list,” said David Bouchard, Head of Contract Logistics / Supply Chain Management, DB Schenker Logistics, Region Americas. “DB Schenker operates approximately 20 million square feet of warehouse space across North America, much of it dedicated to fast-moving consumer goods. DB Schenker has long standing customer relationships and successful partnerships with fast-moving consumer goods companies that confirm our industry know-how.”
“This year’s list reflects the growing diversity of 3PLs and cold storage providers operating in the food supply chain, who are adapting to changing demands from their customers and end consumers alike. Food safety and security is one such demand, as are energy efficiency and controlling costs,” noted Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief at Food Logistics. “Whether the 3PL or cold storage provider is a small, specialized player or one with international reach and resources, the companies we’ve included for 2013 share a commitment to providing measureable value and industry expertise to their customers.”
