Foodies and Festival Lovers will Flock to the Taste of Alpharetta
Alpharetta, Ga. (PRWEB) April 26, 2014 -- Prepare your taste buds for the 24th Annual Taste of Alpharetta on Thursday, May 8 in historic downtown Alpharetta, 2 South Main Street, from 5-10 p.m. With 50,000 families, food lovers and festival-goers in attendance, over 60 gourmet food options, live music, and food competitions, the Taste of Alpharetta is the Southeast’s most anticipated dining festival. In addition to the great food, patrons will enjoy a culinary competition, live music and family-friendly Fun Zone areas.
Admission is free and patrons can purchase food and activity tickets - 10 tickets for $5. Tickets are redeemed at participating restaurant booths for a wide selection of tastes that will range from $.50 - $3 per sample or can also be used in the events family-friendly Fun Zones for a variety of activities ranging from pony rides and rock climbing walls, to inflatable’s, balloon art and henna tattoos. Learn how to make some of your new favorite dishes with a trip to Georgia’s only Publix Apron’s Cooking School where you can have a once in a lifetime culinary experience. Learn from cooking celebrities and renowned restaurant chefs, or focus on a particular cuisine, technique, pairing topic or occasion. Classes are also available for children or teens. Sign up for a two or two and a half hour long class and take home new ideas and recipes. Culinary Competitions (Located on Roswell Street):
From 5 - 7:30 p.m. Culinary Competitions will heat up Roswell Street. A separate Culinary Stage diagonally across from the Music Stage will pair top area chefs against one another in contests for Best Salad/Appetizer, Best Fast Casual Entree, Best Fine Dining Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Presentation and Best Booth. Atlanta Eats TV and radio host, Mara Davis, will emcee the culinary competition stage.
People’s Choice Awards (Located on Roswell Street at the Culinary Stage):
Ballots will be available at the Culinary Stage through 7pm. There are no judging guidelines for this category. The restaurant with the most votes will win the People’s Choice Award.
Fun Zones (located on Old Roswell and Old Canton Streets):
