Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC Podiatrist Featured in Frederick Steeplechasers Newsletter
Frederick, MD (PRWEB) July 20, 2015 -- Dr. David J. Levine (Frederick Division) was featured in the June 2015 edition of the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club Newsletter. Dr. Levine, also a member of the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club, explained how he began running and his early experiences in high school and college training. His lifelong passion for running eventually motivated him to open his own practice in the late 1980’s, followed by the opening of a footwear store (now New Balance - Frederick). Dr. Levine also discussed the new innovative Alter G technology he uses in his practice to keep injured athletes active and running.
“The ability to put one foot in front of the other is such a seemingly simple act that many of us take for granted until an injury strikes. Unfortunately, the only time you really understand this is when you can’t put your shoes on and go out the door. Through my practice, shoe store, and now Frederick antigravity running, there are many ways to keep you pounding the pavement and doing what you enjoy.”

David J. Levine, D.P.M., C. Ped., has practiced in Frederick, MD, since 1989. In addition to his podiatry office, his facility includes a gait analysis lab, a shoe lab, where modifications and repairs are performed by Chris Logan, orthopedic shoe technician, and an orthotic lab run by Matt Meitzler, a certified pedorthist.
After graduating from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, he completed a residency, specializing in surgery, at Mission Oaks Hospital in California. He then participated in a sports medicine fellowship in Washington, D.C. Dr. Levine is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, the Pedorthic Footwear Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. He is a member of professional organizations, such as the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Pedorthic Footwear Association.
Dr. Levine is active in the community, and has been a regular volunteer with the Frederick Community Action Agency, serving those without health insurance for more than 20 years. He was the first podiatrist to serve as medical adviser to the Pedorthic Footwear Association. In March, 2010, Dr. Levine opened Walkright, a shoe store specializing in comfort. It is located in the College Park Plaza, next to Safeway. He oversees the operation of the store, and is often available for screenings and advice for customers in need of help with their feet and shoes.
