Foot Levelers Promotes International Chiropractic Growth
Roanoke, Virginia (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- Key executives of the Foot Levelers team are traveling internationally to promote the growth of chiropractic outside of North America. China, Australia and Mexico were first stops on a jam-packed itinerary that will soon include Europe.
China: Chiropractic to Compliment Ancient Traditions of Holistic Wellness
Dr. Mark Zeigler, Foot Levelers’ Vice President of Education, recently travelled to Shanghai, where he visited an orthopedist and general practitioner at St. Michael’s Hospital to discuss protocols and the role of orthotics in the chiropractic profession. After his visit to Shanghai, Dr. Zeigler traveled to Tianjin in Northern China and met with representatives from Beiman Hospital, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (one of the oldest TCM institutions), and the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University. At the University, Dr. Zeigler spoke with the Vice President about the role of chiropractic in rehabilitation and functional medicine.
From Tianjin, Dr. Zeigler traveled to the capital city of Beijing and there met with Dr. David Bellin, who serves as chiropractor to the Chinese National Volleyball team. Dr. Bellin, a graduate of Life University, devoted three hours of his time to discuss with Dr. Zeigler the role of chiropractic in Chinese society and opportunities for further growth. While in Beijing, Dr. Zeigler also met with a reporter from Chinese Health News to explain the impact feet and orthotics have on the kinetic chain.
Following the meetings in Beijing, Dr. Zeigler returned to Shanghai where he gave a presentation at the 2013 Shanghai International Rehabilitation Symposium, focusing on the kinetic chain in patient rehabilitation and intervention. During his final full day in China, Dr. Zeigler met with officials from the World Path Clinic International Hospital, including Dr. Feng Xu, who has extensive experience in pediatric rehabilitation.
“It’s really exciting to see how the chiropractic profession is growing internationally,” Dr. Zeigler noted after the trip to China. “With such a rich history of holistic wellness, China is a natural fit for our profession. China is starting to embrace the profession and we’re proud to work with them during this critical point in the growth process.”
Mexico: 15th International Interdisciplinary Congress of Chiropractics
In early September Dr. Zeigler and Geoff Miller, Foot Levelers’ Vice President of International Business, attended the 15th International Interdisciplinary Congress of Chiropractics in Mexico City. Dr. Jon Mulholland of Plattsburgh, NY represented Foot Levelers on the speakers’ panel and gave a lecture on “An Olympic Approach to Managing Lower Extremity Injuries.” In addition to the conference, which also included Scott Haldeman, DC, MD, PhD., Dr. Zeigler and Miller met with leaders from three universities: Universidad Estatal del Valle de Toluca, Universidad Estatal del Valle de Ecatepec, and Universidad Veracruzana, which recently enrolled its first 16 chiropractic students.
Australia: Meeting with the Chiropractic Elite ‘Down Under’
In June, Foot Levelers President Dwayne Bennett and Miller traveled to Australia to attend Parker Seminars Australia and meet with several distributors and others devoted to the nation’s growing chiropractic profession.
Next Stop: Europe
Foot Levelers executives will be in Europe in mid-September. The trip will be highlighted by visits to the British Chiropractic Association Autumn Conference in Bristol, the University of Glamorgan in Cardiff, and Barcelona College of Chiropractic.
