Foot Levelers Visits With British, Spanish, and Swedish Chiropractic Groups
Roanoke, VA (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- On the heels of trips to China, Australia, and Mexico, members of the Foot Levelers executive team once again hit the international trail, making visits to Britain, Spain, and Sweden to help promote the growth of the chiropractic profession and help build public awareness about the quality care the profession provides.
Foot Levelers Vice President of Education Dr. Mark Zeigler traveled to Western Europe to meet with members of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) during the organization’s Fall Conference. The BCA has a long history of supporting chiropractors within the United Kingdom, serving the profession since 1925. Dr. Zeigler notes the importance of the BCA in the chiropractic community, “Working with partners like the BCA will help grow our profession in new and exciting ways. We will be able to help develop technique and practice management skills, and we’ll also be able to help educate the general public on all the benefits chiropractic has to offer.”
Also on the trip to England, Dr. Zeigler met with chiropractic specialists from the University of South Wales, which was the first University in the United Kingdom to offer an integrated undergraduate chiropractic program accredited by the General Chiropractic Council.
Dr. Zeigler was also able to meet with members of the Welch Institute of Chiropractic, which is located on the University of South Wales’ Treforest campus. In their final year, students in the USW Chiropractic program get extensive hands-on training at the Welch Institute.
After his visit to the United Kingdom, Dr. Zeigler made Foot Levelers’ first visit to the Barcelona College of Chiropractic. Founded in 2009, the BCC is the first Chiropractic University in the Mediterranean region and is funded in part through partnerships with Spain’s two top public Universities, Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universitat de Girona. “We believe that partnering the Barcelona Chiropractic College will make a significant impact on the availability on high quality chiropractic care in the region,” continued Dr. Zeigler.
While Dr. Zeigler was in Spain, Foot Levelers Vice President of International Development Geoff Miller joined Dr. Mark Charrette for a workshop with members of the Swedish chiropractic community. There are over 500 chiropractors currently practicing in Sweden and of those about 100 joined Miller and Dr. Charrette for the workshop. The trip was designed to teach technique, and to also help chiropractic establish a stronger foothold in the Swedish healthcare system.
