Football dream comes true for Belfast glass repair tech rewarded for impressive praise
(PRWEB UK) 1 May 2014 -- A glass repair technician at Auto Windscreens’ Belfast Fitting Centre had his football dream come true recently when he was rewarded with a VIP trip to Old Trafford for receiving over 110 pieces of praise from customers since January 2013.
David Douglas, a Base Supervisor and long-term Manchester United FC supporter, was given exclusive tickets by the vehicle glass repair business to watch his beloved team play Liverpool FC from the director’s box. This was organised in recognition of the 96 unprompted positive letters and calls recorded in 2013 and the impressive 16 ‘glowing’ comments notched up so far this year about David, who has been a replacement technician for 17 years.
“I was sat in the box with David Beckham’s dad and football legend Brian Robson; it was unbelievable and a once in a lifetime experience,” said David. He added: “I’m incredibly proud of all the nice things customers have said about me and think the secret is to give them a hearty handshake on arrival and explain everything I do during the glass repair process so they trust me and know I’ll look after their car. It’s important to go the extra mile, aim high and make sure every repair is completed correctly first time.”
Chris Thornton, Auto Windscreens’ new Managing Director, visited Belfast in last week (25th April) especially to meet with David and thank him for the sterling work he carries out on behalf of the company. Commenting on David, Chris said: “He is clearly an exceptional member of our workforce and a champion of excellent customer service.
