Footlighters Theatre to Present an Epic Medieval Tale for Its 2013 Summer Youth Theatre Workshop
Redlands, CA (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Footlighters Theatre in Redlands, California will be presenting a production of a Celtic Medieval tale as part of its annual Summer Youth Theatre Workshop. Entitled "The Quest", the show will open on Thursday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. and will run until Sunday, July 28.
“The Quest” centers on a magical kingdom ruled by a beloved, widowed queen and her seven children. Although the enchanted kingdom has been mostly peaceful, evil lurks behind the scenes. The tale includes a colorful list of characters with dragons, magical trees, fairies, druids, a royal court, an evil family, and a sword-wielding heroine.
The production will feature an original score by Derek Fiechter, an outstanding composer.
The cast consists of youth actors from various schools in the area ranging in age from 5 to 21 years old, who auditioned early in June. Many of the students are returning actors who have participated in previous Footlighters Theatre productions. For many of them, the workshop is a highlight of their summer where they can practice their acting skills and gain experience in the production, technical, and behind-the-scenes aspects of theater. Most importantly, it’s a time to have fun with other theater enthusiasts of all ages.
“The Quest” is written and directed by Pat Adeff, who has spearheaded the theater’s youth workshop for the last five years. When asked what inspires her to produce these workshops, she immediately answered, “The students! It’s amazing to watch the talent that is inherent in our young people. I am always delighted by the imagination that comes forth during the Workshop. It is humbling to watch the brilliance shown in the creative process by these outstanding students. I truly believe that Footlighters is blessed with the best!”
This year’s production of “The Quest” is the 5th for the Footlighters Youth Theatre Workshop. Each year, auditions are usually held on the first week of June.

Thursday, July 25, 7:00 p.m. – Opening Night
Friday, July 26, 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 27: Matinee – 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 28: Matinee – 2:00 p.m.
