Force Chem and AmberTech Team to Produce AmberGlide MSM Lubricant
Lafayette, Louisiana (PRWEB) March 05, 2015 -- Force Chem Technologies, LLC., a manufacturer of biodegradable oilfield chemicals, announced today that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with AmberTech Global to produce AmberGlide MSM friction reducer. AmberGlide MSM combines Force Chem’s ForceGlide with AmberTech M99 lubricant to create the industry’s leading friction reducer. AmberGlide MSM uses “Molecular Surface Modification” to change the way the lubricant interacts with metal surfaces. The product is envisioned as a pipe lubricant in oil well drilling and completions.

AmberGlide MSM is a highly complex, water dispersible, lubricant designed specifically to reduce frictional resistance (drag) encountered with coiled tubing, drilling, and completions operations in horizontal wellbores. It is thermally stable downhole (>400°F). AmberGlide MSM utilizes ForceGlide’s high-pressure, high-temperature lubricity technology while incorporating AmberTech Global’s patented molecular surface modification (MSM).
MSM uses a negatively charged particle to bond the lubricant with positive charged metallic surfaces that commonly occur from the machining of parts and pipes. The molecular surface of the metal changes, causing parts to not actually touch each other when they move. When AmberGlide MSM was tested at the University of Lafayette for lubrication coefficient results based on the surface-to-surface drag apparatus, it outperformed every competitive product it tested against.
“When we added the friction reduction solution (AmberTech MSM) to the Force Chem Tech product (ForceGlide), we observed a nearly 20% decrease in the friction coefficient,” said Dr. Fathi Boukadi, the Head of Petroleum Engineering Department at, University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
