Former Capitol Hill Advisor Elana Broitman Joins Greenberg Traurig’s Government Law & Policy Practice
(PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- Elana Broitman has joined the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s New York City office as shareholder in its Government Law & Policy Practice. Broitman joins the firm from UJA-Federation of New York, where she served as Senior Vice President.
At Greenberg Traurig, Broitman will represent clients in New York City, New York state, and Washington, D.C. on government affairs, procurement, regulatory, and policy matters. She will also provide specific expertise in Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) matters, cybersecurity, and sanctions.

Broitman has also held numerous positions within the federal government. Most recently, she served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy at the Defense Department. Broitman worked on Capitol Hill for a decade, serving as senior advisor to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand on Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees, and before that as counsel to the House International Relations Committee. She had previously served in the Clinton administration as Senior Rule of Law Advisor to the U.S. Agency for International Development's Europe and Newly Independent States.

Before joining the firm, Broitman served as the Senior Vice President of UJA-Federation of New York where she led federal, state, and city government affairs for the largest local philanthropy and worked closely with the New York delegation, the Homeland Security Committee chair, and New York state and city leadership.
Additionally, Broitman spent nine years in private industry focused on intellectual property and international technology policy matters.
Broitman holds a J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was the notes editor of the Texas Law Review, and a B.A., cum laude, from Trinity University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
