Former Head of Innovation Ventures at State Street Joins WalletFi Board
DURHAM, N.C., May 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- WalletFi, a leading subscription payment platform, welcomes Sarah Biller to its Board of Directors. Ms. Biller was most recently the Head of Innovation Ventures at State Street Bank's Global Exchange division and its Chief Operating Officer for Innovation. She has also held roles at Fidelity Investments, worked on MCI's corporate venture team, and co-founded the FinTech Sandbox, a Boston-based not for profit that accelerates the product development cycle of FinTech startups. Along with her world-class FinTech experience, Ms. Biller brings new strategic partnership and investor connections to the Board, and has been a Principal in the launch of several successful venture-backed FinTech startups.
"WalletFi is one of the most exciting FinTech startups I've seen and they're making inroads quickly on a huge market opportunity. I'm thrilled to be joining the team," said Sarah Biller.
"I can't think of a better person to have on our Board given the direction we want to take the company. Sarah's deep ties to the FinTech ecosystem as well as her experience innovating within large financial institutions will help WalletFi bring transformative technology to consumer banking," said Alain Glanzman, co-founder and CEO of WalletFi.
The move comes on the heels of two recent acquisitions of WalletFi competitors by Goldman Sachs' Marcus team. As the industry continues to show signs of widespread consolidation, WalletFi is making a strategic push into banking, to offer a novel approach to personal finance and subscriptions.
"The world doesn't need another Mint," added Mr. Glanzman. "We're out here to do one thing, and that's to change the way subscriptions are paid for. With Sarah's connections and expertise, we have an even greater opportunity to move the needle on consumer behavior in this rapidly-growing $400B industry."
