Former U.S. Senior Foreign Service Officer Joins KEI

Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- Mark Tokola has joined the Korea Economic Institute of America (KEI) as its Vice President.

Mr. Tokola comes to KEI with over 38 years of experience in the U.S. Department of State, where he served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. embassies in South Korea, Mongolia and Iceland. Most recently, he served as the Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in London. He was given the State Department’s Superior Honor Award for his work on the Dayton Peace Accords in Bosnia-Herzegovina and served as Director of the Iraq Transition Assistance Office in Baghdad from 2007-2008. He was involved in planning the 2014 NATO Summit in Wales, the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, the 2010 G20 Summit in Seoul, and the 2009 G20 Summit in London.

“I am excited to join KEI, a premier think tank/public policy institute focused on US-ROK relations. As a person who has always had a strong belief in the importance of working with key U.S. allies, it is only natural to work with the Republic of Korea”, said Mark Tokola, KEI Vice President.
