Former USC Dental Chairmen Form Strong Bond With Expertise
Oxnard, CA (PRWEB) January 26, 2014 -- Two of the nation’s finest dentist will be able to see more patients and train more of their peers after opening two new locations in Ventura County, Calif.
Dr. Saj Jivraj and Dr. Mamaly Reshad recently opened offices of the Anacapa Dental Art Institute in Oxnard and Woodland Hills. The two prosthodontists specialize in implant, cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.
The practice focuses on extensive restorative dentistry and dental implants.
“We take the time to get to know our patients and find out exactly what they need before embarking upon any irreversible therapy,” Jivraj said.
As prosthodontists, the pair is in the top 2 percent of all dentists. They have each undergone three years of additional full-time training after dental school. Both have more than 20 years of experience.
“We are trained in advanced techniques in implant dentistry, aesthetics and full-mouth reconstructions. We have also taught at the highest level at some of the best post-graduate university programs in California and abroad,” Jivraj said. “Our niche includes some minimally invasive or biomimetic techniques that originate in Europe. Many of our treatments avoid or use very little tooth reduction. This can help keep from damaging the tooth long-term.”
Each has served as chairman of the Restorative Department at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry.
“Only a handful of people have held this post since USC opened its doors,” Reshad said. “We have trained and developed curriculum for many (hundreds) of USC graduates today.”
Jivraj earned his degree at the University of Manchester in his native England. He received advanced prosthodontic training at the USC School of Dentistry. He has published numerous articles on esthetic and implant dentistry in peer reviewed journals, and has presented on implant dentistry and advanced prosthodontic procedures nationally and internationally.
Jivraj is co-author of the textbook “Treatment Planning in Implant Dentistry,” which is used around the world. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and is associate clinical editor for Dental Teamwork magazine.
He currently holds a faculty position as an associate clinical professor at the USC School of Dentistry, clinical teacher at the Eastman Dental institute in London and is on the board of directors for the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
Jivraj was voted “Best of USA” by his peers in 2008.
Reshad qualified as a dentist from King’s College in London. He completed his master’s in Conservative Dentistry with distinction at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. He has received advanced prosthodontic training at the USC School of Dentistry.
He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and textbooks on various topics related to prosthodontics, aesthetics, and implant dentistry. Reshad is on the editorial board for the highly prestigious Journal of Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry. He is an honorary clinical teacher at the Eastman Dental Institute and a member of the faculty of the Global Institute for Dental Education.
