Fort Lauderdale Advertising Federation To Host Board Induction Ceremony And Networking Event
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- On July 31, the Advertising Federation of Greater Fort Lauderdale will host an event to introduce their new Board of Directors. Both, members of the organization and nonmembers are invited to attend and meet other creative professionals and advertising executives in their local community. The event will be held at Mai-Kai Restaurant from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
The Advertising Federation of Fort Lauderdale, or AdFed, is hosting their annual Board Induction Ceremony at Mai-Kai Restaurant on July 31. The event, which begins at 6:30 in the evening, will be held in a private dining room and last until 8:30 that night. Attendees will include club’s president Chad Grandey, trustee Anne Grigsby and current board members Meredith Lasher, Steve Cohen, Elyse Taylor, Mike Pardo, and Janissa Khal, among others. Admission costs $35 for registered AdFed members and $45 for nonmembers; with a valid student ID, students can attend for $15.
“This event has become a local tradition that kicks off the next AdFed season,” the company stated as part of their official announcement. “Come along to rub elbows with the local ad crowd […] and kick off the new season with our first summer event.”
Interested parties can currently RSVP through the organization’s website. The ceremony is listed as “Achievement Night” on the company's event calendar. All guests will receive two free drinks (non-alcoholic for students) and passed hors d'oeuvres.
The Advertising Federation’s Board of Directors manages all of the organization’s affairs. According to their By-Laws, the Board must consist of no less than 12 members. Board Directors are selected by the members during annual elections, during which time they also elect a President. Any member in good standing can be elected to the Board, and any Board member can be selected President. Award-winning creative director Chad Grandey is the current President of the Greater Fort Lauderdale branch.
Mai-Kai Restaurant, a Polynesian establishment, is located at 3599 North Federal Highway. Their private dining rooms can hold up to 300 people.
Valet parking will be free for the event. There is a $5 charge for self-parking.
The American Advertising Federation (AAF) is a nonprofit organization focused on supporting local advertising and marketing community. On the state and national level, the club is involved in state and in federal lobbying that seeks to promote and defend advertising interests. The Fort Lauderdale branch was founded in 1957 and serves the Greater Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach advertising communities as part of the AAF 4th district. They hold regular programs for guests and members and are involved in events such as the ADDY Awards and the ADMERICA National Conference.
