Fort Lewis Lodge Earns TripAdvisor 2013 Certificate of Excellence
Millboro, VA (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- Fort Lewis Lodge is pleased to announce it joined the ranks of the hospitality elite, earning a TripAdvisor 2013 Certificate of Excellence.
“To be recognized by TripAdvisor because our guests have enjoyed their time here – and taken the time to tell people about it – is an incredible honor,” said Fort Lewis Lodge Innkeeper John Cowden, who founded and runs the country bed and breakfast near Hot Springs, Va. with wife, Caryl Cowden.
Now in its third year, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor.
Winners of the Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website, with only the top 10 percent receiving the prestigious award, according to TripAdvisor.
"We're delighted to celebrate the success of hospitality businesses around the world…which are consistently offering travelers an outstanding customer experience," said Stephen Kaufer, president and CEO, TripAdvisor. "The Certificate of Excellence award provides top performing establishments the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers."
To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
The Fort Lewis Lodge is a bed, breakfast and dinner inn that sits at the foot of the Shenandoah Mountains in Virginia. The 3,200-acre plantation is filled with natural beauty from the moment the property opens to guests in April to when it closes for the season in November.
Fort Lewis Lodge features the main lodge, in-the-round silo guest rooms, hand-hewn log cabins with stone fireplaces, and the Riverside House. Evenings are highlighted by contemporary American-style cuisine served in the historic Lewis Gristmill, also known as Caryl’s kitchen because she cooks and helps serve all the meals.
John and Caryl Cowden pride themselves on creating what they call a rare combination of unpretentious elegance. Earlier this year, Fort Lewis Lodge was named among the 2013 Top 10 Romantic Inns by American Historic Inns, publisher of Bed & Breakfasts Guide Books and iLoveInns.com, and among the top 10 Most Welcoming Bed and Breakfasts in the state by Virginia Living Magazine. Fort Lewis Lodge also remains a member of Select Registry, Distinguished Inns of North America.
