Foundation Financial Group Receives Colorful Thank You Notes from Students at White Bluff Elementary School
Savannah, Georgia (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- Foundation Financial Group announced the completion of its community outreach event to support White Bluff Elementary School. FFG employees volunteered their time to help with the school’s beautification project, which aims to renew school pride in the wake of a recent act of vandalism.
“I would like to thank the fine folks at Foundation Financial Group for investing their time, energy, and efforts to assist White Bluff Elementary as we continue to rebound from last school year’s vandalism incident,” Principal Chris Jacobs said in reference to the $10,000 worth of damage caused by vandals in March.
Foundation Financial Group employees devoted a Saturday to making a difference for Savannah’s youth. The Home Depot store on Abercorn Street donated all of the necessary supplies, and Store Manager Bobby Pounder joined Team FFG at the event. The volunteers were appreciative of Pounder’s expertise and Home Depot’s generosity.
In a few hours, Team FFG repainted the lines that run the perimeter of the school, transforming thin and faded yellow lines into thick, bold blue lines. Repainting the lines that guide students from the main building to the portable classrooms was the first thing on Principal Jacobs’ mind when Foundation Financial Group asked what needed to be done. Volunteers also assembled picnic tables to provide students and teachers with an outdoor picnic spot.
“Just the small things for kids mean a whole lot,” said Albert Bailey, FFG event coordinator. “And changing something as simple as lines from yellow to blue makes walking back and forth to classes less mundane.”
Bailey, who is both an FFG employee and White Bluff Elementary parent, helped organize the philanthropic event. His vision is that Foundation Financial Group’s involvement will inspire other parents to recruit their employers to participate in White Bluff Elementary’s school beautification project.
Since the community outreach event, Foundation Financial Group has received several colorful thank you cards from White Bluff Elementary students. The crayon depictions of FFG volunteers brighten up the financial services corporation’s Savannah Regional Sales Center and serve as reminders that a small effort can have a big impact.
