Foundation Financial Group Supports the Dallas Independent Order of Odd Fellows
Fort Worth, Texas (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- Foundation Financial Group announced its support of the Dallas Independent Order of Odd Fellows, which engages in a wide variety of philanthropic activity. The Fort Worth Lodge 251 Odd Fellows’ Casino Night charity event was attended by employees from Foundation Financial’s Dallas Regional Sales Center, located at 1903 Central Drive # 201. The financial services corporation also made a significant financial contribution to the non-profit organization.
“We had never even heard of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows until one of our customers brought the Order to our attention,” said Foundation Financial Group Event Coordinator Dana Chen. “While chatting with the customer about the importance of giving back to our community, he shared with us his passion for belonging to the Odd Fellows. The more we learned about the Dallas Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the clearer it became that this charity was a great match for FFG. We got excited about the opportunity to support a charity that our customer cared so deeply about and decided to attend the Odd Fellows’ Casino Night event, where we had a lot of fun for a great cause.”
“As a new corporation in the Fort Worth community, I am impressed by how simply getting to know our customers can create a chance for FFG to join forces with them and make a difference in so many lives,” continued Chen. “Partnering with great charity organizations to enhance our communities is what FFG is all about. I’m proud that Foundation Financial Group continues to go beyond helping people better their financial situations by reaching out and helping people better their neighborhoods.”
Foundation Financial Group employees joined more than 50 supporters for the Order’s Casino Night event, in an effort to help raise funds and generate awareness. Casino Night featured poker, craps, an auction, and a hot dog sale to raise money for the Order of Odd Fellow’s general fund. The organization utilizes their general fund to finance Order scholarships, support food banks, and supply aid to local people struggling through various hardships.
“Being an Odd Fellow gives me a sense of personal satisfaction because I can make a small difference in the chaos that is going on in this world right now,” said Past Grand, Lori Horak, who was the elected head of the lodge for over a year. “To be able to assist those in our direct community who are in need. To see the immediate satisfaction of lending a helping hand, without looking for anything in return. Seeing the smile on someone’s face, seeing a person truly be thankful for the help the Odd Fellows are providing, makes me feel good inside.”
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was formed, in England during the 18th century, for the ultimate purpose of improving and elevating the character of mankind. With over 10,000 lodges in 25 countries, the Odd Fellows are a family fraternity that uses friendship, love, and truth as guiding values. Their mantra is to visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead and educate the orphaned. The Odd Fellows support many deserving relief projects including SOS Children’s Villages in Cambodia, Living Legacy (planting trees), and the Arthritis Foundation. Each lodge sets its own agenda according to the resources and needs in individual communities.
