Foundation to Foster Empowerment Hosts Launch Party December 11
(PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- The Foundation to Foster Empowerment is proud to announce its launch party, officially dubbed the First Annual Empower Party, to be held December 11, 2014. The event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. PST at Redstone Mortgage, 8525 E Pinnacle Peak Road, Scottsdale, AZ, 85255.
Event tickets are free, but donations, which will directly benefit the Foundation to Foster Empowerment, are accepted and encouraged. Attendees can register for the event online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/first-annual-empowerparty-for-the-foundation-to-foster-empowerment-tickets-14154339009.
PRP Wine International will be at the launch party sampling their carefully selected and exclusive wines, and they will donate $2 per bottle sold to the Foundation. The event will also feature a silent auction to benefit the Foundation.
Heidi Anderson, President of Electronic Commerce International, founded the Foundation to Foster Empowerment with the mission of stopping the cycle of homelessness and hopelessness for youth aging out of the foster care system. The Foundation was incorporated in February of 2014, and received a 501c3 designation in July 2014.
“The statistics surrounding the foster care system are tragic,” Anderson said. “I wanted to do something to help the young adults who are affected. Right now more than 24,000 kids age out of the foster care system nationwide with no home, no direction and no family or anyone to love them. A staggering 40% of these youth are homeless, imprisoned, or worse within two years of leaving the foster care system.”
The goal of the Foundation to Foster Empowerment is to provide housing to these young adults, ages 18-21, while they get their GED, attend community college and learn life skills. The Foundation’s unique EmpowerToolSchool provides young adults with a safe, loving, family-style home while they build valuable construction, teamwork and leadership skills through the Maricopa County Skill Center’s YouthBuild Program.
