There are many issues surrounding the implant surgeries to breast and butt. Large scars, unnatural look, high cost, long downtime and need for additional surgery are all issues that one must consider when getting implants. It's actually recommended to have implants replaced every 10 years as the implants are likely to fail beyond this time. Most people are simply tired of the "fake look" that comes along with implants. “It is now possible to take fat from a less desired area and transfer it to an area in need, like the butt or breasts,” says Schmidt. “It looks and feels natural, because it is your own fat.”
He goes on to explain the simple process of removing the fat through tumescent liposuction, which can be done in an office based setting while the patient is awake. While it may sound weird and a bit scary, this technique has proven to be significantly safer and more cost effective than using general anesthesia.
The fat is removed through minimally invasive liposuction and kept in a sterile closed system to decrease any chance of infection by exposing the fat to the air. Once the fat has been removed, it is processed and the quality cells are separated and prepared for transfer. The area for transfer is then numbed using the tumescent technique and prepared for grafting process.
With optimal conditions, the fat is then injected systematically into the chosen area of the breasts or the butt. The fat can be distributed in nearly any part of the body desired. This means that if one has a void in the butt or lack of volume in the upper chest or cleavage area, this can be addressed for a rounder, fuller look.
Since the fat transfer uses the persons own cells, there is virtually no risk of rejection. After the transfer, the body will begin formation of new blood vessels to nourish the fat cells and aid in growth. The recovery is fairly easy, although it is important to keep pressure off of the area for at least two weeks following the procedure. Most people are able to return to sedentary work within 3 days.
