Fox River Water Reclamation District (FRWRD) Awarded LEED Silver Certification
South Elgin, IL (PRWEB) January 20, 2014 -- The Fox River Water Reclamation District (FRWRD - http://www.frwrd.com/) achieved LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the design of its new Administrative Office and Laboratory, located in South Elgin. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the internationally recognized metric for determining the degree of sustainability incorporated into a facility. The project was designed by DLA Architects, Ltd. and constructed by Lamp, Inc. serving as the Construction Manager.
UPCOMING AWARD PRESENTATION
The LEED Silver plaque will be presented to the Fox River Water Reclamation District Board of Trustees at their regularly scheduled board meeting on January 27, 2014 at 9:00 am by representatives of DLA Architects.

The Fox River Water Reclamation District Administrative Office and Laboratory, designed by DLA Architects, Ltd. is one of several local LEED/Green and Sustainable projects which DLA has designed. Other local facilities include: The Rider Center at Elgin Academy (LEED Gold), THE National Bank (LEED Gold) and the Grand Victoria Foundation (LEED Silver). DLA also served as the Technical Advisor for the City of Elgin in the development of the City of Elgin Sustainability Action Plan.
