Frailty Syndrome Overview Published by Dove Medical Press

As corresponding author Dr Leng says, “Since the seminal paper on frailty phenotype published by Dr. Linda Fried and colleagues at Johns Hopkins in 2001, research both in the biological basis and clinical application of the frailty syndrome has taken off at an unprecedented speed. Partnering with colleagues in China, I attempt to provide a brief overview, to the best of our knowledge, about the current status of this internationally emphasized topic in geriatric medicine and aging research.”

We hope that this will serve as a starting point for further information exchange and knowledge dissemination as well as an enhancer for further research development of this important and exciting field.”
