Franchise Beacon Asked to Guest Lecture at Orange Coast College
Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- Franchise Beacon, the Orange County, CA based franchise development group, has been asked to speak at Orange Coast College’s Intro to Business class, taught by Associate Professor Charles Zellerbach.
“We are excited to share our unique background and experiences with this class of students, “said Michael Peterson, Franchise Beacon’s President. “Being asked to share our successes and challenges with these up-and coming-entrepreneurs is gratifying, and being able to possibly steer the next Orange County business owner down the right path is exciting!”
Franchise Beacon’s founders have a unique life experiences as business owners, franchisees, and franchisors, making them exceptionally qualified to share this information with the students. Mr. Peterson has owned several businesses in the wireless retail, marketing, and in-home sales arenas. His co-presenter, Franchise Beacon’s CEO Charles Franklin, has been a franchisee in the wireless retail world, and has also owned a security company and a marketing company. Together, they spearheaded the franchise development of Play N Trade Video Games, which was at one point the fastest growing retail franchise in the country.
“Being able to share a little bit of what I have learned, and give a little back, is gratifying,” Mr. Franklin explained. “There are lessons I wish I had learned early on, and I hope I can impart some of those lessons to Professor Zellerbach’s class.”
Professor Zellerbach said, “I am always interested in guests sharing relevant experiences with my classes. It is critical for students to apply the principles and skills we learn to real-life business situations. Having the leaders of Franchise Beacon interact with my business class will help to answer the age-old question, “Why am I learning this stuff?”
Franchise Beacon has a unique offering as franchise developers, in that everyone involved in the company has been involved in the franchising space as a franchisee, a franchisor, or both.
