Franklin County, Kan., Begins E-Recording with Simplifile
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Kan. (PRWEB) January 20, 2014 -- Franklin County has implemented electronic recording (e-recording) of land documents with Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider, allowing customers such as title companies, banks, and attorneys to electronically submit documents to the county for faster, more efficient recording.
“We had numerous requests from customers asking us when we were going to start e-recording, so we felt it was time to begin,” said Franklin County Register of Deeds Sue McCay. “E-Recording will save on mailing costs and the documents will be recorded and sent back to the submitter within minutes. They will have the filing information much faster, which will be a benefit to our customers.”
Instead of using the mail, runner or a courier service, customers have the option to scan, upload and submit their documents electronically through Simplifile’s online service. In minutes, the register of deeds office is able to review, stamp, record and return the documents back to the submitter using Simplifile.
“Our service is very easy to use, and it provides a more cost-effective recording option for both Franklin County and their customers,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “All customers need to start e-recording their documents is a scanner and high-speed Internet access.”
Using Simplifile eliminates a significant amount of paper as well as check-writing expenses. It also helps reduce the occurrence of rejected documents and payment errors.
