Frederick County Expands International Business Development Opportunities with World Trade Center Institute Partnership
Frederick, MD (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- The Frederick County Business Development and Retention Department (BDRD) has partnered with The City of Frederick Department of Economic Development and the World Trade Center Institute (WTCI) to become a county member of the largest international business network in the Mid-Atlantic. As a county member, all Frederick County businesses now have the opportunity to receive WTCI services to expand their global reach.
President Blaine Young of the Frederick Board of County Commissioners said, “We are pleased to be only one of a few counties in Maryland offering this service to our businesses. We believe this will be a tool to attract investment into the county, knowing we can offer a well-rounded set of benefits that include international exporting services at no cost to our business community.”
The World Trade Center Institute was established in 1989 as a private, non-profit organization and drives growth through global connections, international business services and professional exchanges programs. The county’s involvement in the organization allows businesses to attend WTCI member-only events, register at discounted rates for WTCI signature events that are open to the public as well as have the ability to contact the WTCI for business and government contacts and have access to their internal marketplace to share skills, services and products with other members. Many of these services are free.
WTCI will also organize a semiannual workshop in Frederick County to educate companies on the membership benefits and also to discuss other resources available to companies contemplating international business.
