To kick off awareness of this free program, the Paterson Alliance (http://www.patersonalliance.org/) launched its “Think Pre-K” campaign in early 2017 when registration began. “Through our neighborhood “Pre-K Navigators,” and an information website, we brought much-needed attention on this important program,” said Inge Spungen, Paterson Alliance Executive Director. “It’s not too late! There are so many opportunities for early childhood education in our city and we hope parents and caregivers will take steps to enroll their kids for this Fall.”
Studies show that children who attend pre-K are more prepared for kindergarten and do better in school overall. A full overview of academic, social and emotional statistics is available on the campaign’s website here. (http://www.patersonprek.org/information.html)
Registration information is also available online for parents and caregivers who want to learn more, including tips for evaluating quality programs and impacts on their child’s involvement in pre-K. (http://www.patersonprek.org/english-registration.html)
The “Think Pre-K” campaign provides information and direction connection to assistance in English, Spanish, Arabic and Bengali languages.
