Free People Builds Dimension Using Real Customers
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) February 14, 2015 -- Fashion brand, Free People, is excited to announce the second anniversary of its online Style Community, FP Me. To celebrate, real customers active on the platform will be featured on the homepage of FreePeople.com this February 16th, 2015 representing new trends the brand is excited about for spring. The images will also be displayed at an invite-only gallery exhibit in New York City on February 12th, 2015, honoring the FP Me journey and giving a glimpse at upcoming Spring Trend Category.
FP Me launched in 2013 as a place where fans could upload and share personal style pics, create product collections, ‘heart’ products, photos, and connect with other fashion lovers worldwide. Since then, FP Me has blossomed into an amazing global community of shared inspiration. The photography and styling is paramount, but what is even more beautiful is the tight knit Community which has formed. Free People was one of the first retail brands to launch with such an innovative platform, facilitating a true community by bringing customers together offline at exclusive wellness retreats, one-on-one photo shoots, and special events.
The brand is in constant communication with the FP Me Community, and when the second anniversary arrived, Free People invited top customers to style spring trends. On the West Coast, photographer Alexandra Valenti, shot a group of customers at Vasquez Rocks in a day long photo shoot. Meanwhile, on the East Coast, customers traveled to the Free People home offices and were treated to a day of photo shoots around Philadelphia landmarks. Additional independent photo shoots featured FP Me customers in key markets including South Africa, the UK, and Australia. The resulting imagery embodies each FP Me user’s personality and continues the platform’s message of showcasing customers’ rich interpretations of the Free People brand.
The imagery will launch on the brand’s website as the Spring Trend Preview, and will live on the homepage of FreePeople.com from February 16th- February 22nd. Showcased trends embrace spring worthy fashions, including shapeless dresses, utilitarian pockets, and folk inspired flares perfect for the season ahead.

To further celebrate FP Me’s creative spirit, Free People teamed up with artists Alexandra Valenti, Thani Mara, Erin Penn, and Kris Chau to turn the anniversary and Spring Trend Preview into an art exhibition. Each artist has superimposed their artwork atop the photography, shedding a whole new light on the group of FP Me women enhancing the face of Free People fashion. Each work will be available for silent auction at the invite-only event on February 12th, 2015 with 100% of proceeds going to local non-profit, Free Arts NYC.
