Friday the 13th and the Twitter Anti-Valentine.
Saint Simons Island, Georgia (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- Fiery Verse, LLC announces the release of its first publication on Friday, February 13th, entitled, Neverlasting - a contemporary poetry collection inspired by the vain hope, want and pain of ever-ending love, penned by forty-eight contributing writers who met through Twitter.
Hidden deep beneath layers of one-liners, selfies and cyber-trolls, dwells a small bastion of writers who use Twitter to stretch their poetic legs and exorcise their demons. Daily word-prompt writing challenges allow writers to create a poem or piece of prose and post under the prescribed hashtag. #fieryverse began as one such challenge, ferrying thousands of poems out into the Twitter cosmos.
When Fiery Verse, LLC announced the theme for their first poetry collection, over 1,500 submissions poured in. The chosen poems are featured in Neverlasting, a darker look at love with some lust thrown in for good measure. The poetry is authored by many writers who post their work daily on Twitter. As homage to the craft and the contributing authors, Neverlasting lists most of the authors’ Twitter handles, as well as a few sites where interested writers can learn more about micro-poetry challenges.
Since June 2014, the host of #fieryverse, Nina Loard, has remarked on and retweeted poetry over 100,000 times. What began as fuel for her imagination at the urging of her editor, T. R. Perri, overnight became one of the most popular hashtags in the writing community. These daily interactions so clearly demonstrated how encouragement improved writing that Nina decided to take the next logical step. If traditional publishing was not on fire for talented, grass-roots poetry, then she would become a publisher herself.
Nina writes, “Not every piece of writing is exceptional, but unfiltered, personal expression is. After months of appreciating the art of micro-poetry, I needed to share more outside of Twitter.”
Fiery Verse, LLC will also release an enhanced e-book version of Neverlasting with audio recordings of some writers reciting their poetry, offering a deeper layer of meaning and connection.
Both print and electronic versions of Neverlasting will be distributed through Amazon.
Print - $13.99, Enhanced e-book - $6.99
