froglogic Releases Automated, Cross-Platform Squish GUI Tester 6.2
(PRWEB) December 06, 2016 -- froglogic GmbH today announced that Squish 6.2, a new feature release of the popular Squish GUI Tester, is now available. Squish GUI Tester is the market leading, functional test automation tool for cross-platform and cross-device GUI testing on desktop, embedded and mobile platforms as well as web browsers.
With more than 3,000 QA departments around the world benefiting from Squish's tight integration with each supported GUI technology, teams are creating and executing robust, object-based automated GUI tests.
Squish GUI Tester 6.2 delivers several new features including:
➤ Remote System API
Squish 6.2 comes with a new Remote System Object API which permits performing file system accesses (e.g. reading & writing files) as well as executing commands remotely, even when there’s no AUT running on the remote system.
➤ Randomized Test Execution
It is now possible to execute test cases in a random order which helps with finding unintended dependencies between test cases as well as increasing test coverage.
➤ Test Case Tagging
Squish now supports assigning tags to test cases, free-form texts which can be used to select just a subset of all tests for execution. Tags can be viewed and edited via the Squish IDE and selected via the command line. Learn more about how to include or exclude test cases for a specific execution.
➤ Attach to Browser
A newly introduced function “attach to browser” allows attaching to running browsers instance which was not started by Squish. This enables testing user interfaces in which a part of the user interface is rendered as a web page shown by a separate browser process.
A detailed list of changes since Squish 6.1 is available at https://doc.froglogic.com/squish/6.2/rel-620.html.
Squish GUI Tester supports GUI test automation across several technologies, including the Qt, QML and QtQuick GUI toolkits, Java SWT/Eclipse RCP, Java AWT/Swing, JavaFX, Windows MFC, .NET WindowsForms and WPF, Mac OS X Carbon/Cocoa, iOS Cocoa Touch, Android, and Web/HTML5/AJAX/Flex.
