From Plates to Posts - Massive New Book of Mormon Resource
Springville, Utah (PRWEB) January 17, 2016 -- Lynne Wilson, on the faculty of the Stanford LDS Institute of Religion, grew tired of seeing young people not know where to turn for faithful, academically responsible scholarship on the Book of Mormon. After all, you do a Google search on a topic in Mormonism and who knows what will turn up? She envisioned an organization able to communicate the splendor of this text to a wide audience, particularly young people. Generous donors came forward and Book of Mormon Central was born. The site launched January 1, 2016.
Independent and non-profit, Book of Mormon Central publishes little-known facts about the Book of Mormon called "KnoWhys" several times each week. These illustrated essays, videos, podcasts, and memes are shared over many social media channels http://www.knowhy.bookofmormoncentral.org/. KnoWhys deal with subjects common to all adherents of Christianity, as well as topics unique to Mormonism.
The organization has assembled an archive of reputable Book of Mormon material combed from decades of scholarly work inside and outside of Mormonism. This archive, featuring media in addition to text, is available to anyone with an internet connection. http://www.archive.bookofmormoncentral.org/
Book of Mormon Central has created a curated wiki for the Book of Mormon. This collection of notes is evolving daily from the efforts of full-time staff and volunteers. http://www.notes.bookofmormoncentral.org/
The centerpiece of Book of Mormon Central will be the interactive text. Roughly comparable to the Blue Letter Bible, Bible Hub, or Bible Gateway, the interactive text will present the Book of Mormon overlaid with explanatory and exegetical material. Hyperlinks will take readers to the Book of Mormon Central notes and archive.
Book of Mormon Central was created and is run by people with a passion for Mormon scripture. It is designed to be a one-stop destination for all things Book of Mormon.
