From World War II internment camp to corner office
SEATTLE (PRWEB) February 16, 2015 -- After 92 years of life, someone normally accumulates a sizeable amount of worldly wisdom, especially one heading up a large division at a global science and technology giant like Honeywell Inc.
Author and former Honeywell executive, Carl Nomura, spent 33 years honing his business expertise, and more than 90 years defeating the odds in both his personal and professional lives.
The son of immigrant Japanese American parents, his family struggled to survive growing up. When World War II started, the Nomura family was relocated to an internment camp in California. Nomura decided to become a migratory farm laborer to escape the humiliation of the internment camp, and was later drafted into the Army.
In his book, “Business Success With Less Stress,” Nomura ignores all the set backs he could have blamed for living a rough life and provides a road map for senior executives and department heads to follow in his footsteps and create a flourishing work environment for their employees.

About the author
After earning a bachelor’s degree in physics, master’s degree in science and a doctorate in physics, Carl Nomura started out as a research physicist with Honeywell Inc. in 1953. He moved through the ranks of the company, eventually reaching manager level then corporate executive level. Over the course of his career, he has won many awards including a fellowship with the American Physical Society in recognition of his fundamental research in the field of solid-state physics. During his time at Honeywell, one of the most memorable products Nomura developed was an infrared detector for the military to be able to see the enemy through rain. The author currently resides in Port Townsend, Washington, where he is enjoying retirement.
