FruitFlowers of Philadelphia Honored by Race for the Cure
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- FruitFlowers is proud to announce that their franchise in Philadelphia was singled out on July 20th for a “Freshman Phenom Award” from the Susan G Komen – Race for the Cure non-profit organization.
Race for the Cure started out in 1983, with its first foot race in Dallas, Texas with a total of 800 participants. In 2002, the organization had more than 1.3 million participants in over 100 races in the US, and in two foreign countries. In 2008, Race for the Cure celebrated its 25th anniversary. Currently, the organization has many well-known and energetic sponsors and partners, from American Airlines, Bank of America, and Ralph Lauren, and even organizations like the Dallas Cowboys. Today, the Susan G Komen organization, also known as the Race for the Cure, is admired as one of the most prominent breast cancer organizations in the world.
This organization has recognized FruitFlowers of Philadelphia this past week, giving the store the Freshman Phenom Award for being effective and enthusiastic first-time supporters of the Susan G Komen charity. It’s also worth mentioning that in the past year, FruitFlowers of Philadelphia has donated over 200 gift certificates to many other charities and organizations in the Philadelphia area. The company has worked with well-known charities such as the Fox Chase Cancer center, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, and Philadelphia Business Journal Healthy Workplace Awards, and Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). FruitFlowers was also one of eleven companies total to be recognized recently for giving back to the local community, and, was awarded the Main Line Chamber of Commerce Award for this effort.
