Fujifilm to Present Masterpiece Award at International Photographic Competition
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 05, 2017 -- Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is pleased to announce an updated Masterpiece Award from Fujifilm, to be given out at this year’s 2017 International Photographic Competition (IPC).
“Fujifilm is proud to honor professional photographers who strive to create images of excellence and distinction with its prestigious Fujifilm Masterpiece Award,“ the company said in a statement announcing the award.
There are three Fujifilm Masterpiece Awards given for the competition year of 2017.
• Portrait

The IPC challenges photographers to push their artistic and technical photography skills to the next level by creating and presenting their best work. The competition is open to all photographers, but it also gives those who are members of PPA the opportunity to earn merits toward photography degrees.
The competition attracts image submissions from the best of the best in the photography industry from all over the world and urges others to push themselves to join the ranks of the elite. This year's entries will be judged July 30 to August 2, 2017 at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Judging is open to the public, and requires no reservation or admission fee. Interested artists and observers unable to make it to Georgia for the competition can watch it unfold live at Stream.theIPC.org.
The Fujifilm Masterpiece Award will be awarded to the best image, indicated by the highest score (80 or greater) in its category at the IPC. The judges must agree that the image best represents the category with the highest level of professional photography.
To be eligible, images must meet all the following criteria:
• The image must score at least an 80 out of a potential of 100 points to be eligible for the award.
• The image must be created at a professional color lab.
• Fujifilm Fujicolor Crystal Archive or Quality Dry Photo Paper product must be used in the creation of the image.
• Photographer must be creator and copyright-owner of image used for entry submitted.
• Photographer must also have, in their possession, model release forms and must acknowledge and grant Fujifilm use of the image.
• Employees of Fujifilm North America are not eligible to win the award.
All the winning images created with Fujicolor Crystal Archive or Quality Dry Photo Paper products will be eligible for posting on the FujifilmUSA web page and for exhibition in Fujifilm trade show booths at PPA’s Imaging USA 2018 in Nashville, TN, January 14-16 and other national conventions. The Fujifilm Masterpiece Award will be shipped to the winners after the completion and submission of the application form.
Competitors must submit their images by 5pm EST, June 20. Physical print entry cases must be received within seven days of the entry deadline. Late registration (for an additional fee) runs until July 6. For more information on submission criteria and rules and how to enter visit PPA.com/IPC.
